Sensitive, specialized care for seniors
Prisma Health has a long history of providing care that protects the health and dignity of older South Carolinians. You’ll find unique services such as Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) and others at our facilities.
We even serve as a research and education partner for the University of South Carolina, as well as healthcare systems outside the state.
We’re also proud members of Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE), a national association ensuring nurses have the latest training.
Programs of all Inclusive Care for the elderly (PACE)
PACE is our celebrated, unique approach to caring for seniors every day of the year, from nursing and therapy to meals and companionship.
Services are available in our adult day health centers, patients’ own homes and other community locations. PACE has been shown to improve health and longevity while helping seniors stay independent or remain with family.

Acute Care Unit For the Elderly (ACE)
A special unit in our Midlands hospitals dedicated to patients 65 and older and at a higher risk for complications. The ACE team consists of geriatricians, nurses, rehabilitation therapists, social workers and pharmacists working together to monitor a patient’s condition, improve mobility and reduce length of stay and recovery.
Senior Primary Care Practice
Located in the Midlands, our practice is dedicated to caring for adults age 65 and older. Advanced practice nurses and doctors board certified in geriatric medicine provide a range of primary care services and specialized care.
Center for Success In Aging – Memory health program
Our Upstate center offers patient consultations and evaluations, medical management, social work, resources, and educational and support events for people with memory and cognitive impairments, along with support for their families and caregivers.
